Dulat Akkassov has a background in international relations and Anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT). He worked in the Department of tax and customs legislation of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan (2012-2014) and then in the Committee on financial monitoring of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan – Financial Intelligence Unit of Kazakhstan - FIU (2014-2019).
